Cowtown Pattie's Texas Trifles: meets Life and takes it by the horns - as seen through the eyes of a native Texan!
Thanks, I love those large tributes many small towns put up. My grandmother's birthplace, Neilsville, Wisconsin, has a huge dairy cow gazing down on passerbys. I always wonder what the motivation for these are, often they seem to relate to a local product but sometimes they just seem to be there for fun.
Is that guy cool or what?
We bought a smaller version for my oldest daughter in August. Put it on her front porch, rang the doorbell, and ran and hid.It was their wedding anniversary, and we knew she followed a blogger who did the same thing to her husband recently. The blogger named her chicken/rooster "Beyonce".When my daughter came to the door, she exclaimed with surprised joy: "My own Beyonce!"...Only women with our sense of humor would get it...the men in our family were clueless.
Pattie--And at least one of your readers is clueless - me!Cop Car
I have never claimed NOT to be clueless, but Beyonce? for a rooster?? Great small-town gag, too. People in big cities don't seem to spring this kind of surprise. Thanks for the memories.....
Beyonce has big tail feathers...
