Oh to be so limber!
Janelle Monae in this video is very reminiscent of a young, lithe and prettier female James Brown (I think the choreographer surely was tapping into her/his inner Godfather of Soul.)
Maybe it's the hairstyle...and I suspect very intentional in design. (I expect someone will comment, "Well, no duh!")
