MD 20/20, It Ain't...but Close!

Recipe from food writer Nancy Skodack of Roanoke, Texas.

2 six-ounce cans frozen grape juice concentrate, thawed
4 cups water
1 cup pineapple juice
8 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
In large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Remove spices. Serve in cups or mugs, and garnish with cinnamon sticks.
(Thanks to Texas Monthly for the recipe)

Hmmm, wonder if the recipe might be a tad improved with a good slurp of grape brandy?

However, after reading this article, maybe I should just stick with the holiday tradtional apple cider!

I haven't thought about Mad Dog since college. Grape brandy? Humm, I don't think so, too sweet.

Up at Colorado State University, they used to make Cowboy Lemonade. You need:

One brand new metal trash can

One small can of Donald Duck frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed

Enough ice to fill half the trash can

Enough Everclear Grain Alcohol (preferably 190 proof) to fill trash can to top after you have added the ice

After you have filled the trash can, dump in the can of lemonade concentrate and stir.

Serve in plastic cups

Smart women stay away from parties where Cowboy Lemonade is being served.
