Tioga, a little north Texas town, is literally in need of a jolly Green Giant-sized snow blower - for weeds.
Seems a nearby big conglomerate farming entity (PCK Management) was unable to mow timely this spring due to heavy rains so seeds were allowed to germinate. The result is a town buried in tickle weed. (Yeah, there's the ubiquitous brief ad before the real story, sorry.)
Gives me the asthmatic vapors...

Pattie,
I humbly bow and ask for your tender and gracious Texas forgiveness. I haven't been here in quite a long time. Quite too long, ma'am. I just looked at your slide show. Very excellent. Made me homesick for both Texas and Arizona.
I'll be back--a lot sooner. I promise.
Paul - How the heck are ya? No need to 'pologize, I have been quite the missing reader at many of my favorite places in the blogosphere. Many reasons, but my absence has not been self-imposed ;-)
couldn't get the video to work. but "tickle" weed sounds like more fun than "sneezeweed" or some other alternatives.
Hmm, I just tried the link to the video again and it worked - again you have to wait for the ad to quit...
Wow! What a mess.
I guess it's an advantage that our area is mostly developed, and the nearby fields that aren't developed are maintained pretty well by the owners. I can't even tell you how irritated I'd be, if I were in those folks' shoes. Are you one of them?
Foo - nope, not in my neck of the woods. I am in Cowtown, 'member?
I've never heard of tickle weed -- wonder who came up with that. Now, tumble weed is another matter -- at least it puts itself into some sort of form.
Tickle weed is awesome! I want to roll around in it until I sneeze out a lung (or a shoe).
My allergies have finally gone into summer hibernation until fall. Until the pig weed rears its ugly, curly tail!
