No Stinkin' Fence Needed

In the Why A Wall Is Stupid category:

Center for Immigration Studies published an eye-opening report: No Coyote Needed

The fact that we still have no reliable and accurate way to track visitors once they enter the United States is a scandal. David Seminara

(David Seminara was a tenured member of the U.S. Foreign Service from 2002-2007. He served as a consular officer in Skopje, Macedonia, from 2002-2004; Port of Spain, Trinidad, from 2004-5; and Budapest, Hungary, from 2006-7. He currently is completing a book on visas and immigration. He is available for interviews and panel discussions on immigration and can be reached at Dave.Seminara@gmail.com)

Excellent post, Pattie, with links to sites about which I had known. Surely do hope the "No Coyote..." report and recommendations receive some attention from those addressing the immigration issues. Look forward to Seminara's book.

I, too, have complained for a long time about the visitor tracking problem. Instead of establishing meaningful solutions to the immigration problem -- we're constructing ..... a WALL??? Makes me furious everytime I think about it.

Whoa, wait a darn second there, pardner! It would be easy to tack people -- see http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/dannywestneat/2004300343_danny23.html

Also, perhaps in the visa, green card, whatever papers there might be, the guv'mint could do this: http://www.weeklyworldnews.com/news/world_headlines/20

Bill, you link to the monitoring story surely proves...America is literally just a cat's hair away from those regimes we've always said we hated.
