You Must Watch This Video

Does John McCain have a scary skeleton in the closet?

You owe it to yourself to watch this clip whether you are a fan of McCain or not. Pay attention to the names and titles of the men speaking on this video.

This certainly bears some investigation.

I just watched the remake of Manchurian Candidate and I liked it better than the original.

I wouldn't give any credence to anything Bob Dornan says. Even his Republican congressional colleagues considered him an embarrassment and wished that he'd disappear.

Some of his famous quotes included calling Russian journalist Vladimir Posner a "disloyal, betraying little Jew who sits there on television claiming that he is somehow or other a newsman." And then there was "Don't use the word 'gay' unless it's an acronym for 'Got Aids Yet?'."

I don't know the genesis of this video, or the political agenda of whomever made it, and I'm certainly no fan of John McCain, but I always question these smear tapes regardless of which side they're on. It's just all too reminiscent of the Swift Boaters for Truth, who turned out to be nothing more than the well financed Swift Boaters for Lies and Deception.

Definitely interesting material to ponder; Tod's comment as well, because it is true that there is so much information we clearly don't know. What I do know for certain, of all the things I don't know, is that I don't want any republican making their way back to the oval office this year. Grrrr...

I'm with Tod, all I'm seeing is the latest generation of Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain, or Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, or whatever ..... that same crowd that did hatchet work (on McCain in 2000 and Kerry in 2004) for 'their man.'

Too many uses of "Former" in their titles and credential ..... too many people who are on the outside, wanting back in ..... and POW/MIA family advocates who sounded a LOT different from those I've lived and worked with in PA, TX and NM ...... too many frustrated investigative-author- and policy-maker-wannabes.

Miss Pattie, thanks for sharing ..... but I still admire John McCain, his independent spirit on Capitol Hill, and the stand he took against the Bush administration as they tried to re-define tourture .....

Whether I could vote for him is another matter ..... but I will still honor the man.

I'm not concerned with the "formers"in the people's titles. That just means they've moved on, one way or another.

But it sure would be good to know the provenance of this tape...

Great comments, folks.

I was hoping to get some back and forth.

I will agree, Jeff, that McCain knew that Bush's stance on torture would inevitably fall hard on any American POW's.

However, I don't think anyone would argue that the terrorist factions in Iraq don't care much for the Geneva Conference rules, though.

Miss Pattie, you are absolutely right on terrorists amd their regard for the Geneva Convention ..... or even (in the case of Islamic-based terror groups) the Qur'ān.

However, we if we ARE the good guys in this conflict .....

I still have to defer to McCain, when he recalls his own experience with 'enhanced interrogation' at the Hanoi Hilton, when he and others 'guests' reminded themselves that 'We wouldn't do this to them.'

Well i think these are just a bunch of would-be rambos who are beating a dead horse. Vietnam is over, guys. We have new issues to deal with and I think most people realize that. So I don't think this issue is going to get any traction.
