Plate chargers? Should I be embarrassed to admit that we actually own a dozen of the damn things? Gold, no less. Well, lacquered gold leaf on a melamine base, anyway.
They do look nice under our white porcelain, though...and they add a certain tone to the Chinet, as well.
My favorite chargers are some plastic fish-shaped ones designed to hold paper plates. Perfect for a fish-fry. It's a long story as to how I got them. It would make a good blog post except that I doubt I will ever write it. Come to think of I have had those for 15 years and never once used them. Probably because I have never had a fish fry.
I have never owned a plate charger. S'pose the paper plkate holders would be the closest thing for us as well.
How did I insert the "K" into the word "plate" up there? Think I'm about ready for bed...
Amen to that last bit! 'round here you know you're special if we break out the Chinet!
