Quiet Fall Guests
This lovely spirea bush in our backyard becomes a sweet habitat for the yearly stopovers of Monarch butterflies. Last year the bush was so covered in the butterflies it looked like a giant orange and black ball.
I wish our Monarch guests a speedy and safe trip to perhaps Angangueo, in Michoacan, Mexico. Haven't asked them their exact destination as I have yet to learn butterfly-speak, but I am honored by their brief visits with us each year.

Wait a minute - does spirea bloom in the fall. Mine never does. Could it be eupatorium perhaps?
Muy cool.
How pretty! We're way pas butterfly season around here, it's cold and wet and dreary. I miss summer already
Lovely, Pattie. I have loved the Monarch butterfly forever
