**UPDATE: Found this little note posted by Ed at The Dizzies blogsite:
Steven Pinker in NYT: "Listeners who hear the Minnewegian sounds of the characters from ‘Fargo’ when they listen to Ms. Palin are on to something: the Matanuska-Susitna Valley in Alaska, where she grew up, was settled by farmers from Minnesota during the Depression."
AHA!
I am the only person who gets this character's mental image whenever I hear Sarah Palin speak?
You betcha, yaah!

Yah, sure. To me she sounds alternately like this character and someone from the sticks. Occasionally, she even sounds educated (as she must be)... but only on rare occasion.
I can't recall if McDormand's character ever said "nucular."
Yah, I got that, too; but I quickly set it aside because that character is such a wonderful character of fiction and doesn't deserve comparison with someone from the real world. Gee willikers.
LOL - You're right Bill, McDormand deserves to be uncompared!
Wingnut : "Do not underestimate Sarah Palin!"
Me : "That is not possible ;-)"
Oh...I thought you were talking about the one who slept with the little guy.
Kidding!
Oh yah!!
Did you hear me laughing. That video was so funny!!
Sarah has given us a lot of laughs but I WISH the election was over already.
I'm tired of all the talk - imagine how McCain must feel .
Did you notice during the debate with Obama how McCain had to hold on to something every so often. After all it's hard to stand up for a long period of time. (I know about that)
