I was thinking it would be pretty incredible to see any live bluebonnets this time of year. It was a bad year for them during blooming season, but I did manage to get some photos of my niece playing in some. They also look a little weird (like, the wrong color and everything!).
Is there an even more precise cross street along 287 you can provide for the sculpture? And how big is it?
I Love Texas bluebonnets. It has been a long time since I have driven down 287. Many times I have enjoyed the drive from north texas down through Hamilton, Hico, Lampasas and Burnet, then over to Llano. We try always to stop at the Lost Dutchman's store and hopefully end up at Fuzzy's Corner in time to pick up some barbeque. Next time I drive to Texas (Please Lord, let it be soon!) I will try to see this sculpture. Thanks for posting it.

Yes they are. :)
no matter what -- nothing is prettier than blue flowers. And those are the bluest I have ever seen. Lovely indeed.
Great images, Miss Patty ... including those on your last post, too.
I was hoping a visitor would see that those bluebonnets are somewhat suspicious ;-)
Actually, they are a large metal sculpture on Hyw 287, on the north side of Burnet..
A metal sculpture ..... they surely are realistic looking.
D'oh! I guess this proves we don't know Texas bluebells when we don't see them. :)
Fooled me, girlfriend!
