The Hoodoos of Big Bend Ranch lie just to the south of FM 170 between Lajitas and Redford and while you can see them from your car, they are most spectacular when viewed up close and personal, especially in the moonlight.

lovely picture. In Hawaii the volcano makes pillars like that called hornitos. I love rock formations, the hold the secrets of the earth.
This is, indeed, spectacular country. I'll have to visit there someday. Also, am delighted to find the link to hokule'a kealoha and her Big Island blogs.
