These Days...

Jackson Browne is never very far down my stack of beloved cd's or albums. He is a comfortable musical friend, and can evoke so many emotions within me. Memories, some good, some bad, all come flooding in unbidden when I listen to him. He is far from your typical hippie troubadour; some critics refer to him as the J.D. Salinger of the California singer-songwriter scene.

Hmmm. Salinger, huh? I doubt even Holden would call the talent of Jackson Browne, "phony".

Don't confront me with my failures, I had not forgotten them.

Truer words were never sung.

I'll take Browne over Salinger, actually. Not that I dislike Salinger, but Browne has been considerate enough to keep his listeners updated over the years, and age has served him (and us) well.

Jackson Browne is one of my absolute favs.! I posted "Doctor My Eyes" some time ago on my site because it was one of those "on my mind" tunes. Yay for Jackson Browne!!!

CP,
I'll even forgive you for liking Dan "The Man" Fogelberg, whenever you mention that Mr. Browne is an old favorite. Form the ridiculous to the sublime, and isn't Mr. Browne so sublime? Well, at least in his younger days when he was so wordy and so insightful.

Jackson Browne has also been one of my favorites for years! For Everyman and The Pretender -- love 'em.

He's up there with CS&N (or CSN&Y) to really bring back the memories and emotions.
