My Friend, Miss Trudy Fair

A great friend, and a tremendously talented musician and singer, Trudy Fair is a unique voice and one-of-a-kind sweetheart. She moved to Texas from California in the late 60's and we went to junior and senior high together. She not only sings a wicked Texas swing tune, but she also has her own ranch and shows her gorgeous black brangus cattle at stock shows around the state. Trudy was always an independent soul, and danced to her own drumbeat. When just out of high school, she toured for more than six years with Leon Russell. Several years ago, she was a headliner in the Pawnee Bill's Wild West Show here at the Cowtown Coliseum. In 1997, Trudy won the Will Rogers Award for the Academy of Western Artists, and was winner of the female western swing vocal for 1996, 1997, and 1999.

Try this site and this one and for more samples of her music. Be sure and listen to her magical yodel in Wide Rollin' Plains.
