Who Is Cowtown Pattie?

I was Lillie Langtry in another life, and might have a crush on Calamity Jane.

A Nap, A Bath and Sex with an Unfamiliar Woman

Deadwood ( HBO's version) is my new favorite show. I know, I know. Psst, Pattie, the show's been on for a full season. But, just got the little amazing box (for a mere $25.00 extra bucks a month) from Charter that lets me catch up on all the missing episodes with the push of a button. Guess Kman got tired of my moaning and groaning about not being able to watch it and he went on up to the Charter store and brought home the magic contraption. So, at the rate of 2 shows per night, we are fast catching up on the life and times of these extraordinary people. I am seriously hooked. I love it. Best thing on TV since Band of Brothers. Now, I am fuming cuz I will finish watching all the episodes and will have to wait for fall to join up with my friends from Deadwood again.

Robin Weigert, as Calamity Jane, is my favorite character. (Duh!) Her portrayal of the rough, tough mule skinner and parttime Indian scout is top notch. Actually, Robin's Calamity reminds me of Renee Zellweger's, Ruby Thewes, in Cold Mountain. William Sanderson is also a very worthy actor in the series as E.B. Farnum. Heck fire, all the characters are great (except maybe the carnivorous pigs).

If you love westerns, then grab yourself a bottle of rot-gut, and join in the fun. I have never been much of a whiskey-drinker, but this show will make you thirsty enough to want to throw back a shot or two, just to get "in the mood".

I do believe I have never heard the word c***sucker so many times in the span of a single hour. Deadwood could teach a Shanghai sailor new cuss words to add to his vernacular. Just beware, HBO's Deadwood ain't for the faint of heart:

“Some goddamn point a man's due to stop argueing with hisself and feeling twice the goddam fool he knows he is 'cause he can't be something he tries to be every goddam day without once getting to dinnertime and f*cking it up. I don't want to fight it anymore, understand me Charlie? -- and I don't want you pissing in my ear about it. Can you let me go to hell the way I want to?”
