Okay, this morning I am low on high brow. So, a little fun with Hollywood.
As long as the Academy sees fit to have Billy Crystal as the host for the Oscars, I will watch every minute. I love his humor, his timing is perfect, and he is so at ease on stage. He probably doesn't write his own stuff, but I would rather have had a full hour of just Billy's monologue! You never know how much of a stage personna reflects real life, but I would guess he is a good guy in everyday life.
Oh, to have the wit and grace of Blake Edwards in my very golden years! After seeing a few clips, I want to rent and re-watch all the Pink Panther movies as well as Breakfast at Tiffany's. Never cared much at all for the Bo Derek flick, but most of Edwards stuff is just so funny! Victor/Victoria another wonderful Edwards' movie.
Did anyone see Bill Murray's face when Sean Penn got the leading actor Oscar? I kinda felt sorry for Bill, but he really had an angry look and I couldn't tell if it was an act or real emotion. I believe it was a candid camera moment. Anyone notice how bored Clint looked? I didn't see a very favorite actor of mine - Paul Newman.
And the commercials! Much better than the high testosterone-laden Super Bowl's.
One last snark - and this pains me to say as an aging female, but girls, when you are past 35, boobies should not be on display. Not attractive, not attractive. Even if you are Jamie Lee Curtis, there comes a time when a great designer gown should not emphasize a nearly-nude bust. Clue to Ms. Sarandon: watch the playback. Like my mamma would say, "It's just tacky!"
