Crystal Blue Persuasion

REV 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

CRYSTAL BLUE PERSUASION by Tommy James and The Shondells

Look over yonder what do you see
The sun is a-risin' most definitely
A new day is comin' people are changin'
Ain't it beautiful crystal blue persuasion

Better get ready gonna see the light
Love, love is the answer and that's all right
So don't you give up now so easy to find
Just look to your soul and open your mind

Crystal blue persuasion, mm-hmm
It's a new vibration
Crystal blue persuasion, crystal
Blue persuasion

Maybe tomorrow when He looks down
Every green field and every town
All of his children every nation
There'll be peace and good brotherhood

Crystal blue persuasion
Crystal blue persuasion.....

I never knew the connection between this song and the Book of Revelations. While looking for an mp3 of the tune, I stumbled across an interview with Tommy James. He did, in fact, write the lyrics with Revelations in mind. Which still begs the question: What is a Shondell?

So, with my curiosity peaked, I reread Revelations. It is a very interesting passage in the New Testament and has been the source of many a misquoted prediction. The story of the Antichrist is always brought up with a discussion of Revelations. The New Jerusalem is the other.

This website by Buck Cash is fascinating and well thought out. Shall require some more studying, but I love a puzzle. I know there many religious folk who get their dander up when you try to logically or scientifically explain the miracles and mysteries of the Bible. Just humor me and open your mind to the possibilities. Oh, and, turn on some Shondells' music to add to your reading pleasure. Now, I am curious about what Crimson and Clover might have hidden in its lyrics!
