Who Is Cowtown Pattie?

I was Lillie Langtry in another life, and might have a crush on Calamity Jane.

Marquees Over Cowtown

Cowtown Goes Hollywood

Can you guess the year? (Hint: it was long before Cowtown Pattie was even a twinkle in her Daddy's eye.)

The Bowie was just an artist's rendition in this picture. Now, it is a bank instead of the wonderful old movie house it used to be. Thankfully, the bank owners kept the original wall murals intacts. Sadly, most of these great cinematic houses are gone, and not just in Cowtown.

If too small to read, the Hollywood marquee sports a Dorothy Lamour flick entitiled, "Moon Over Burma", with Robert Preston. The Majestic has Spencer Tracy starring in "Northwest Passage", and the Varsity is showing "The Great McGinty". It is Big Buck Nite Award at the Varsity - I am guessing they were giving away something? The Palace has a feature film called "Star For a Night", "Hold 'Em Cowboy", and "When You're Single". Give Up?

The year was 1940.
