This Week's Tip of the Stetson

As a new addition to Texas Trifles, I am going to add "Tip of the Stetson" to honor and thank those cowboys and cowgirls that make my life richer. For you greenhorns, a Stetson, while also a trademark, is a moniker for manly ( or womanly) western headwear. No self respecting cowboy/cowgirl is completely dressed without it. In Texas, a gentleman cowboy always touches the brim of his hat and dips his head when meeting a young lady on the street. Just plain respectful.

This week's honoree, and the First Stetson Salute goes to Gil, the nicest guy in Houston I know. Gil came to my distress call and rescued me from the train wreck over at Village Photos. A true Texas gentleman who patiently played Professor Higgins to my Eliza Doolittle ignorance. Thankee kindly, sir.
