Absolutely gorgeous weather this week. Sat in my favorite rocker on my
patio last evening, put on a Billy Joel album ( yes I still have a
turntable which we use when out on our covered patio in the backyard),
poured a frosted mug of Corona with lime and salt and watched the doves
come into feed at the birdfeeder with sunflower seeds. Also have a couple
of hummingbirds that visit too. Super dogs, Max and Bud, were racing
around chasing the doves and making a pest of themselves as usual. Most
everything still in bloom - hybiscus, crepe myrtle, impatiens, and such
and still very green. But a change in the air, and I will soon add mums
and astors to the yard. Then, a little later on, some kale.
Have a busy weekend planned with football ( high school homecoming) game
on Friday night with a bunch of alums, then a Saturday feast at Joe T
Garcia's mexican food on northside. After tacos, will head down Camp
Bowie Blvd for the Jazz festival on the lawns between the Amon Carter
musuem and Will Rogers Complex. Should be fun!
